Evelyn Martinez is a queer Xicana (Mexican-American) creative born and raised in The Bronx. As a Portrait Photographer, she focuses on telling stories and portraying imagery of people of diverse backgrounds, ages, and body sizes. A central theme in Evelyn Martinez’s work is ingenuity, authenticity, and inclusiveness.
The workshop will cover the following:
– Demonstrating how a simple, goal oriented and intentional project can give you the lived experiences that can take you to the professional level;
– Explaining pitching and world of stock photography;
– Sharing connections/resources that can help youth get started on that journey to professional photography; and
– Using social media/word of mouth to leverage your work and to build community.
